Two Teens Hurt In Explosion Near Cedar City

(Cedar City, UT) — Two teenagers were injured after an explosion west of Cedar City on Wednesday evening. Iron County sheriff’s deputies say four teens were reportedly experimenting with explosive target material in the Desert Mound area when some of it detonated prematurely. One teen suffered minor injuries, while another was seriously hurt and flown from the scene by helicopter for treatment. Investigators have not said what caused the material to explode, and the incident remains under investigation.
