Sawmill Fire Grows And Causes Preemptive Evacuation Orders

(Beryl, UT) — Preemptive evacuation orders of cabins and yurts were issued north of Beryl after the Sawmill Fire erupted. The fire sparked near Steamboat Mountain and was originally reported at 60 acres on Tuesday, but when it reached nighttime the blaze grew to 900 acres. Officials say if the fire expands and threatens permanent homes, then the Sheriff’s Office will deploy a reverse 911 alert to registered residents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
