Temporary restraining order dropped for Spring City

A 6th District Court judge denied a request to temporarily halt Spring City’s land-use and zoning decisions. The lawsuit, filed by Friends of Historic Spring City and other property owners, claimed the city violated laws through inadequate public notice, conflicts of interest, and failure to assess impacts on historic properties. Judge Mandy Larsen ruled that while the plaintiffs raised genuine concerns, they failed to show a strong likelihood of success in their claims. The decision allows Spring City to continue business as usual. City attorney Taylor Kordsiemon said the ruling confirms the plaintiffs’ case lacked strong legal footing.
