OGDEN, Utah-Monday, Weber State men’s basketball head coach Eric Duft announced the addition of new assistant coach Shaun Vandiver to his staff.
Vandiver brings 20 years of coaching experience to the Wildcats staff, including seven seasons as a head coach at NCAA Division II Emporia State (Kan.), posting a record of 87-112 (.416) for the Hornets.
Vandiver, who starred at Colorado as a collegian and was drafted No. 25 overall in the 1991 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, spent the last seven seasons as an assistant at Wyoming.
His contributions helped the Cowboys achieve an NCAA Tournament berth in 2022.
He served an additional stint on the Wyoming staff as a graduate assistant for the 2002-03 season and was also an assistant at Northern Colorado (2003-04), Bowling Green (2004-05) and Boise State (2010-2011).
Vandiver played professionally for nine years in Italy and Spain.
He is a native of Bolingbrook, Ill. and he and his wife, Danielle, have five children.
