A search is scheduled after human remains were found at Fishlake. According to Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis, “on the evening of the 16th of May we had a report from an individual who was walking his dog along the shoreline of Fishlake and his dog started picking up a shoe that was on the shoreline. When the individual took the shoe from the dog he realized there appeared to be a bone in the shoe. Detectives responded and found the remains of what appeared to be a human foot inside the shoe.” The next day search and rescue was called out to search the area, but no other evidence was found to indicate where the foot came from. Detectives are looking into a case of a missing person from September of 1997, and have been able to find a child of the missing person and sent in a DNA sample for comparison. According to Sheriff Curtis, “The Utah Sheriff’s Fishlake Search and Rescue Conference is scheduled to be held June 6th & 7th and as part of the conference we plan to conduct a search for the missing individual.” No other information is available at this time.
