SLCC Men’s Basketball Signs Two For 2019 Class

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Thursday, SLCC men’s basketball announced the signing of two Utah products who are expected to help the Bruins maintain their recent level of success.

SLCC men’s basketball coach Todd Phillips announced the signings of small forward Asa McCord and forward Tyler Bennett, graduates of Westlake High and Dixie High, respectively.

Under Phillips, the Bruins have made in-state recruiting a top priority as is seen in these signings. As of the tipoff of the 2018-19 season, the Bruins are expected to have seven Beehive State young men on their roster.

McCord recently returned from an LDS Church mission in Managua, Nicaragua and was a 2016 5-A first-team all-stater averaging 18.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest.

Bennett will return from his mission in Washington D.C. in July and made the 2016 3-A all-state first team for the Flyers, amassing 21.5 points and four rebounds per game.
