1A State Baseball Quarterfinals @ Gates Field (Kearns High School)
KEARNS, Utah-Maddix Johnson homered and the No. 1 Panguitch Bobcats blitzed No. 4 Piute 11-1 Thursday in the 1A state baseball quarterfinals at Gates Field at Kearns High School.
Bridger Chappell and Remme Chappell drove in two runs apiece in the win for the Bobcats. Quade Veater and Traiger Ramsay drove in a run apiece for Panguitch as well in victory. Tavin Jessen drove in a run in defeat for Piute. The Bobcats next advance to the Friday semifinals at 4:00 pm at Gates Field against No. 2 Bryce Valley Piute moves on to the consolation bracket against No. 6 Valley Thursday at 7:00 pm.
KEARNS, Utah-Ricardo Navarro drove in a run and the No. 2 Bryce Valley Mustangs downed No. 6 Valley 1-0 Thursday at Gates Field at Kearns High School in the 1A state baseball quarterfinals.
Luke Andrus posted three strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Mustangs.
Consolation Bracket @ Gates Field
KEARNS, Utah-Bodie Gayler homered and the No. 4 Piute Thunderbirds blanked No. 6 Valley 11-1 Thursday at Gates Field at Kearns High School in the 1A consolation bracket at Gates Field at Kearns High School. Nash Fautin drove in five runs for Piute in victory while Brodee Montague and Trey Pearson added an additional RBI apiece in the win for the Thunderbirds. Gayler earned the win on the mound for Piute by posting three strikeouts in 1.1 innings of work. Hogan Harris drove in a run in defeat for the Buffalos.
