NEPHI, Utah-Beau Halverson completed 13 of 23 passes for 215 yards and a score as the Juab Wasps overpowered Canyon View 34-14 Friday to successfully celebrate Homecoming in 3A South play. Jaden Heap (3 rec, 97 yards, TD) and Brock Richards (21 car, 110 yards, TD) also had strong showings for the Wasps who improved to 4-4 and 2-1 in 3A South play.
Additionally, Jay Rowley (10-yard fumble return for a score) and Sosaia Paongo (29-yard interception return for a score) also excelled for the Wasps.
Levi Dansie (1.5 sacks), Andrew Woodland (sack) and Wyatt Downard (half a sack) also had strong performances while Paongo had two total interceptions and Porter Jackson and Cooper Nelson also had interceptions in the win for the Wasps.
Jace Floyd (13 car, 100 yards, TD) led the Falcons in the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Griffin Wayman ran for a pair of scores and the Richfield Wildcats waxed Manti 28-7 Friday in 3A South football play. Slate Reitz and Malik Fautin each ran for scores as well in victory for Richfield. Maison Starkweather had a 1-yard touchdown run in defeat for the Templars.
PRICE, Utah-Maddox Madsen returned an interception 30 yards for a score and the North Sanpete Hawks smoked Carbon 36-7 in 3A South football play Friday. Gage Oldroyd caught a touchdown pass and Jayden Reyes ran for a 12-yard score in the win for the Hawks. Rafael Contreras made field goals of 37 and 31 yards in victory for North Sanpete. Anthony Wilson ran 2 yards for a score in defeat for the Dinos.
2A South
MONROE, Utah-Treven Gilbert tossed four touchdown passes and the Emery Spartans outgunned South Sevier 48-41 Friday in 2A South football play. Kanyon Okerlund threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score in defeat for the Rams. Hudson Flinders, Chase Spackman and Boston Palmer each ran for scores in the loss for the Rams. Masen Healy added a 3-yard interception return for a score in the loss for South Sevier.
1A South
BEAVER, Utah-Degan Horner ran for a pair of scores and the Beaver Beavers clobbered Parowan 49-0 in 1A South football play Friday. Bodie Wheatley, Gage Raddon, Andrew Hollingshead, Bradie Pender and Michael Pimental also ran for scores in the rout for Beaver.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Brogen Virostko threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Hayden Gubler and Gubler ran for another score as the Kanab Cowboys lassoed Enterprise 35-14 in 1A South football play Friday. Troy Federkiel and Ryder Allen ran for scores in the win for Kanab and Grady Anderson threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Anderson in victory for the Cowboys. Jack Moyle threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Ryker Phillips and Devin Strong ran two yards for another score in defeat for the Wolves.
1A North
SALINA, Utah-Jake Smith and Cru Richins each threw a touchdown pass and the North Summit Braves surged past North Sevier 55-27 Friday in 1A North football play. Rylan Frischknecht threw two touchdown passes in the loss for the Wolves. Cooper Thurston (40-yard fumble recovery for a score) and Koy Wasden (7-yard touchdown run) also scored in defeat for North Sevier.
FILLMORE, Utah-Nashden Goodliffe threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score and the Duchesne Eagles pounded Millard 45-7 Friday in 1A North football play in the battle of the Eagles. Kaden Turner threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Jensen Davies in defeat for the Millard Eagles.
Non-Region
MILFORD, Utah-Colton Barnes ran for a pair of scores and the Milford Tigers blasted Delta 34-12 Friday in non-region football play. Griffin Walker, Judd Netto and Kilo Tsosie also ran for scores in victory for the Tigers. Ty Stefanoff had two touchdown runs in the loss for the Rabbits.

1A State First Round
SALT LAKE CITY-Noah Hillaker and Coy White each drove in runs and the No. 8 Intermountain Christian Lions downed No. 9 Draper APA 6-1 Friday in the first round of the 1A state baseball playoffs. Hillaker posted 14 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Lions. Intermountain Christian next faces No. 1 Panguitch Monday at 2:00 pm at Snow Canyon High School in the second round of the state playoffs.
JUNCTION, Utah-Blake Dalton homered and No. 4 Piute overpowered No. 13 Utah Military-Hill Field 12-2 Friday in the battle of the Thunderbirds in the first round of the 1A state baseball playoffs. Braige Beus, Brodee Montague and Trey Pearson drove in two additional runs apiece in the win for Piute. Coady Maples and Kelton Neal each drove in a run in the loss for Utah Military Hill Field. Piute next faces No. 12 Green River Monday at 4:15 pm at Snow Canyon High School in the second round of the state playoffs.
AMERICAN FORK, Utah-Mauricio Villalba Hernandez drove in two runs and Cristian Venzor and Jesus Escalante drove in another run apiece as the No. 12 Green River Pirates upset No. 5 American Heritage 4-2 in the first round of the 1A state baseball playoffs Friday. Matthew Lake and Colin Downs drove in a run apiece in defeat for the Patriots.
TROPIC, Utah-Ricardo Navarro homered and hit for the cycle as the No. 2 Bryce Valley Mustangs clobbered No. 15 Merit Prep 24-2 Friday in the first round of the 1A state baseball playoffs. Luke Andrus posted three strikeouts in one inning of work to earn the win on the mound for the Mustangs. Bryce Valley next faces No. 7 Tintic Monday at 9:30 am in the second round of the 1A state playoffs at Snow Canyon High School.
EUREKA, Utah-Braylon Jones drove in four runs and the No. 7 Tintic Miners smacked No. 10 Wayne 12-2 in the first round of the 1A state baseball playoffs Friday. Hunter Robins drove in two runs in defeat for the Badgers.
ALTAMONT, Utah-Judd Taylor drove in four runs and the No. 3 Altamont Longhorns pounded No. 14 Pinnacle 16-1 Friday in the first round of the 1A state baseball playoffs. Keaton Huff posted five strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Longhorns. Altamont next faces No. 6 Valley Monday at 11:45 am in the second round of the 1A state playoffs at Snow Canyon High School.
