Football

3A South

RICHFIELD, Utah-Gage Yardley caught three passes for 96 yards and two scores and the Richfield Wildcats bested Juab 24-13 Friday in 3A South football play.

Yardley also recorded an interception and six tackles defensively to lead the Wildcats to the win in the region opener for both squads.

Griffin Wayman ran for another score for Richfield and Justin Raisor made a 27-yard field goal to salt the game away in the 4th Quarter for the Wildcats.

Price Armstrong threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Robinson and Beau Halvorsen scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in the loss for the Wasps.

Griffin Wayman (interception), Tevon Vakautakakala, Kesler Robison and Jess Curtis (sack apiece) led the Richfield defense.

Andrew Woodland (sack, blocked punt) and Jay Rowley (interception) led the Juab defense in defeat.

MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Ryder Miller threw two touchdown passes and Canyon View got past North Sanpete 21-14 Friday in 3A South football play. Taualua Laupapa ran for two scores in the loss for the Hawks.

MANTI, Utah-Maison Starkweather threw eight touchdown passes and the Manti Templars successfully celebrated Homecoming with a 61-0 decimation of Carbon Friday in 3A South football play. Russell Squire returned a fumble 24 yards for another score in victory for the Templars.

2A South

MONROE, Utah-Jett Rawlinson ran for three scores and the Delta Rabbits overpowered South Sevier 48-21 in 2A South football play Friday. Hunt Robinson and Ty Stefanoff also ran for scores in the rout for the Rabbits and Connor Pruitt caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Steele in victory for Delta. Kanyon Okerlund threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score in the loss for the Rams.

1A South

PAROWAN, Utah-Kilo Tsosie threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Milford Tigers routed Parowan 38-8 Friday in 1A South football play. Griffin Walker added a pair of touchdown runs for Milford and Slade Kesler and Kyzler Merryweather also had scoring runs for Milford. Hunter Bettridge ran 68 yards for a score in the loss for Parowan.

BEAVER, Utah-Deegan Blackner ran for two scores and Bodie Wheatley added a 5-yard touchdown run as the Beaver Beavers waxed Kanab 20-7 in 1A South football play Friday. Hayden Gubler ran three yards for a score in defeat for the Cowboys.

1A North 

SALINA, Utah-Nashden Goodliffe threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Duchesne Eagles smacked North Sevier 47-27 in 1A North football play Friday. Rylan Frischknecht threw two touchdown passes in the loss for the Wolves. James Crowley ran for a score and Nolyn Huntsman returned a fumble for a touchdown in defeat for North Sevier.

COALVILLE, Utah-Jake Smith threw three touchdown passes and the North Summit Braves pummeled Gunnison Valley 41-14 Friday in 1A North football play. Braxton Pickett ran 12 yards for a score and Jack Blackham returned an interception 40 yards for another score in defeat for the Bulldogs.

Non-Region

FILLMORE, Utah-Sergio Arellano’s field goal proved to be the only points on the night as the Millard Eagles blanked Enterprise 3-0 in non-region football play Friday.

Baseball

1A South

TROPIC, Utah-Ricardo Navarro homered and the Bryce Valley Mustangs dismantled Pinnacle 20-2 Friday in 1A South baseball play. Luke Andrus posted two strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Mustangs.

BICKNELL, Utah-Quade Veater drove in two runs and the Panguitch Bobcats smacked Wayne 12-1 in 1A South baseball play Friday. Veater posted five strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bobcats. Hunter Robins drove in a run in the loss for the Badgers.

JUNCTION, Utah-Braige Beus and Brodee Montague drove in two runs apiece and the Piute Thunderbirds bested Valley 9-4 Friday in 1A South baseball play. Hogan Harris, Conner Smith and Waylon Spencer each drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Buffalos.
