(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah’s governor says Salt Lake remains in the running to be the new home of the Sundance Film Festival. Governor Spencer Cox yesterday said Salt Lake is competing against Bolder, Colorado and Cincinnati, Ohio. Cox says he hopes it is Salt Lake, because if not, he fears losing Sundance could punch a hole in Utah’s finances. Tourism reports say Sundance brought 85-thousand people to Utah last year, and was worth over 113-million dollars to the state. The governor expects the other cities to promise more money to Sundance organizers, but he says Sundance and Utah have been tied together for 40 years, and says he hopes that relationship continues.
