WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah-The Richfield Wildcats won a Region 12 boys golf tournament Wednesday at The Ridge in West Valley City with a team score of 297, 11 strokes ahead of second place Juab’s 308. Carbon finished third with a 314, followed by Delta’s 322, Emery came in fifth with a 331, then Canyon View, North Sanpete and Manti rounded out the field.
Individually Richfield’s Max Albrecht won the tournament by shooting a 70, his teammate Kaylen Kelsey came in second with a 72, Ty Bender of Juab finished third with a 73, his teammate Crue Cowan placed fourth with a 74 and Richfield’s Pace Mullen and Juab’s Jaylan Dinkel tied for fifth, each shooting a 76.
Region 18
STERLING, Utah-The South Sevier Rams won a Region 18 boys golf tournament Wednesday at Palisade State Park Golf Course with a team score of 331. Beaver placed second with a 334, followed by Kanab’s 349, then Parowan placed fourth with a 358, Millard came in fifth with a 373 and Enterprise rounded out the field with a 374.
Individually Beaver’s Kyler Moss placed first with a 78, then it was a three way tie for second place with South Sevier’s Keegan Johnson, Kanab’s Ray Capson and Parowan’s McKay Pace all shooting a 79. Kavin Oakden of Beaver placed fifth with an 80.
Baseball
1A South
PRICE, Utah-Clay Gray drove in three runs and the Bryce Valley Mustangs clobbered Pinnacle 13-1 in 1A South baseball play Wednesday. Antonio Moreno and Moxin Floyd added 2 RBI apiece each in victory for the Mustangs. Ricardo Navarro, Rodolfo Perez and Cooper Owens drove in an additional run each in the win for Bryce Valley. Navarro posted three strikeouts to earn the win on the mound for the Mustangs.
PANGUITCH, Utah-Quade Veater drove in three runs and the Panguitch Bobcats pummeled Wayne 11-1 Wednesday in 1A South baseball play. Daxton Miller and Remme Chappell added 2 additional RBI each in the win for the Bobcats. Maddix Johnson and Taycen Ramsay each drove in another run apiece for Panguitch in victory.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Nash Fautin and Braige Millett drove in two runs apiece and the Piute Thunderbirds waxed Valley 6-1 in 1A South baseball play Wednesday. Bodie Gayler also drove in a run in victory for Piute. Blake Dalton recored 14 strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Thunderbirds.
