(Beaver, UT) — A firefighter is in the hospital after getting hurt battling a southern Utah wildfire. Officials say the first responder was severely injured Sunday during suppression efforts on the Little Twist Fire south of Beaver. The extent of their injuries is unknown but the firefighter was hit by a tree and had to be airlifted to a hospital. The fire has charred more than 24-hundred acres as of yesterday and crews believe it is roughly 15 percent contained. Smoke is expected to be visible to surrounding areas during the upcoming weeks.
