(Santaquin, UT) — Attorneys weighing in on the suspect accused of killing Sergeant Bill Hooser say he could face the death penalty. Suspect Michael Jayne allegedly ran Hooser over with his semi-truck while fleeing from a traffic stop on May 5th. Law experts say the state has 60 days after the preliminary hearing to pursue the death penalty, and if that doesn’t happen, Jayne will face 25-to-life of life without parole. He faces multiple felony charges including aggravated murder, attempted murder, and aggravated kidnapping.
