(Kane County, UT) — A police chase across two southern Utah counties is ending with a suspect dead. The Department of Public Safety says the pursuit started in Iron County on Saturday and continued into Kane County where spike strips were successfully used on the suspect’s car. However, the suspect kept driving and a Kane County deputy had pulled over to set more spike strips before the suspect crashed into the patrol car. The person was declared dead at the scene, while the deputy avoided injury by exiting the vehicle. Police have not said what led to the suspect fleeing officers.
