WAYNE COUNTY-Per the official Twitter account of UDOT traffic, a crash occurred near Fruita Monday afternoon at 5:49 pm MDT.

This has caused S.R. 24 at milepost 86 to be closed in both directions five miles east of Fruita. UDOT instructs drivers in the area to use an alternate route.

If you are west of this area, you can take S.R. 72 north of Loa to connect with Interstate 70 and you can exit I-70 at the Goblin Valley turnoff to get back to S.R. 24 as one option.

While this is a terribly long alternate route, being able to go 80 mph on I-70 can expedite the process if need be.
