(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state of Utah will get 209-million dollars over the next 15 years as part of a new settlement related to the opioid crisis. The Utah Attorney General’s Office announced a settlement with Walgreens, CVS and two drug companies yesterday that will send more than 17-billion dollars to 22 states. The agreement will require the two drugstore chains to maintain and share data about opioid prescriptions. A special legislative committee will determine how the money will be divided.
