Lawmakers Pass Abortion Clinic Ban, Gov. Cox Expected To Sign

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Legislature has passed a bill to ban abortion clinics in Utah starting next year. The Senate approved the bill along party lines on Thursday. The House passed the measure earlier in the session and now needs to approve two Senate amendments before sending the bill to Governor Spencer Cox, who’s expected to sign it. The law would bar the state from issuing licenses to abortion clinics in May and outlaw the clinics starting next January.
