Utah House Considers DV Bill

(Salt Lake City, UT) — A bill that aims to help police thoroughly evaluate domestic violence situations is now in the Utah House. The state Senate unanimously approved the bill yesterday in front of the parents of Gabby Petito and Many Mayne. The proposed bill would require officers to conduct a lethality assessment with victims. The measure would also create a database for law enforcement agencies to access and track domestic violence calls. Gabby’s father Joseph encouraged House lawmakers to follow the Senate’s lead and pass the bill.
