(Salt Lake City, UT) — The head of the agency that oversees Utah’s forests says staff members are preparing for the upcoming wildfire season. The executive director of the Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands says resources are already being shifted around the state to make it easier to respond to possible threats. She told state lawmakers yesterday that Utah has already had nearly 200 wildfires this year and the majority of them have been human-caused. She urged Utahns to use their fire sense when outdoors to avoid causing future wildfires.
