(Washington, DC) — Documents filed by the January 6th Select Committee may implicate Republican Senator Mike Lee in the plot to keep former President Donald Trump in office. Court filings show an email from Trump attorney John Eastman pitching Senator Lee’s plan to appoint an alternate set of electors in contested states through Legislatures. Lee had suggested that move several times to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows through text messages. Lee has previously said he was only looking into rumors that states were considering appointing Trump electors.
