Several Utah Collegians Become USFL Draft Picks

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Tuesday, during the inaugural USFL Draft, several Utah collegians were selected. Among them was former Utah State defensive end Adewale Adeoye, selected by the Michigan Panthers.

As the last pick of the 2nd round, Adeoye went No. 16 overall.

Starring with the Aggies from 2015-2018, Adeoye posted 2.5 sacks and 9 tackles for a loss during his collegiate career at Logan.

Adeoye earned 2018 All-Mountain West honorable mention recognition for the Aggies.

The Tampa Bay Bandits, at No. 45 overall (the 6th round) selected former BYU offensive tackle Corbin Kaufusi.

Kaufusi was an offensive lineman in 2016 at BYU and played defensive line for the Cougars in 2017 and 2018, posting 16 sacks and 18.5 tackles for a loss. Kaufusi spent time with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL.

Additionally, the Birmingham Stallions selected former Utah cornerback Brian Allen at No. 67 overall (8th round).

Allen starred for the Utes from 2014-2016, posting five interceptions, nine passes defensed and a sack during his collegiate career.

Allen also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2017 and 2018), San Francisco 49ers (2020) and Cleveland Browns (2021), posting 3 combined tackles.
