LDS Church To Leave Meetinghouse Mask Policy Up To Local Leaders

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will leave masking policies in meetinghouses to be determined by local church leaders. In a letter from the First Presidency, area presidencies are told to consult with stake presidents to determine whether masks should be worn during meetings and activities. Local leaders are also told to consider guidance from local health and government officials, as well as COVID-19 trends. Masks will still be required for members going into temples.
