USU Receiver Deven Thompkins Named To Hornung Award Honor Roll; Earns MWC Player of the Week Honors

LOGAN, Utah-Monday, Utah State senior receiver Deven Thompkins was named to the Hornung Award Honor Roll for the second time this season.

In the Aggies’ 28-24 win over UNLV Saturday, Thompkins, who was also named as the Mountain West’s Offensive Player of the Week as well, posted a career-high 12 receptions for 180 yards. He also hauled in a career-best two scoring receptions.

Utah State has also won its first three road games of the season for the first time since 1978.

Thompkins was also named to the Hornung Award Honor Roll Week 1 following the Aggies’ 26-23 win at Washington State.

Thompkins was joined in receiving weekly conference honors by teammate Shaq Bond. Bond, a senior safety, posted nine tackles (six solo stops) and two interceptions for the Aggies in Saturday’s win.

The Aggies host Colorado State Friday evening for Homecoming.
