Sanpete County officials have reported an outbreak of Covid-19 among two dozen inmates at the county jail. Most of the inmates have been isolated from the general population at the jail.

Officials have not commented on the vaccination status of the inmates, but family members of inmates have confirmed that at least some were vaccinated.

Family members have raised concerns about treatments being offered to inmates including over-the-counter pain medications, but county officials have stated that inmates have access to treatments through the jail infirmary as well as the commissary system.

Officials are not sure how the virus made its way into the jail, but an investigation is underway.
