MANTI, Utah-Saturday afternoon, Manti Football hosted the Manti 7-on-7 tournament, consisting of many teams throughout the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network coverage area participating, including Manti, Beaver, North Sanpete, North Sevier and a combined Wayne/Gunnison team.
The Templars advanced past pool play into the semis, beating Beaver 22-16 in overtime to get to this point. In the semis, however, Manti took an 8-3 lead over Grantsville, only to see the Cowboys come back in several plays and steal the game back with a 9-8 victory.
Manti, and the rest of the high school football teams in the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network coverage area, will take the rest of the time off for summer vacation before fall camp commences in August.
