Why Broncos Country Should Believe in Case Keenum

Good afternoon Broncos Country. I shall discuss why I believe in Case Keenum as the Denver Broncos’ new quarterback.

Case Keenum, who is still relatively young, appears to be in the prime of his career. The 30-year-old Houston product played the best football of his career for the Minnesota Vikings in 2017. The good news for the Broncos is he continues to improve year-by-year. His completion percentage is key evidence of this.

This was more definitive in Minnesota in 2017 than it was at any other time. While with the Vikings in 2017, he completed 67.6 percent of his passes, a career-best. This was an increase of 5.7% from his career average of 60.9% along with 22 TD’s and 7 INT’s.

Now, of course, the Vikings’ impressive talent at the “skill positions” played a role in this. However, as long as WR’s Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders stay in Denver, Keenum has excellent targets.

I’m also fascinated by the possible emergence of TE Jake Butt. Perhaps Keenum and Butt can create some chemistry. Additionally, TE Jeff Heuerman has had his moments when called upon. Currently, Heuerman has 18 career receptions for 283 yards, almost 16 yards a grab, for two scores.

Furthermore, Andy Janovich continues to fascinate me. Perhaps OC Bill Musgrave has what it takes to get the most out of him. Ultimately, Keenum’s attitude is what is most impressive about him.

In speaking to the Denver media last week, he said all the right things and came across as genuine. Keenum, a native of Brownwood, Texas, just has that general Texas kindness to him.

As some of you perhaps know already, my Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints mission was in Tucson and El Paso so I know all about the magnificence of kind and Christlike Texas residents. Being humble, well, there is a city in Texas called “Humble,” but that’s all the humility you’ll find. HA HA (just kidding, our colleague on KMGR Classy FM, Ray, is a Texan and really humble)

It doesn’t hurt things that he told his new boss, GM John Elway, that he grew up idolizing him.

I can honestly say I’ve been preparing my whole life for this!!! Couldn’t be more excited to be a Denver Bronco!! LETS GO!!!

That’s the power of the Broncos. I felt it growing up in Utah, rushing home from Church to watch every game I could. I can relate to Keenum, idolizing Elway myself, and later TE Shannon Sharpe.

Thus, it’s safe to say that Keenum is the “every man” for Broncos Country and he is a rich man’s Kyle Orton. I do not know if he can be as good as Jake Plummer, but now’s the perfect time to find out.

GO BRONCOS!!!
