NEW ORLEANS-Wednesday, former Panguitch High School multi-sport star athlete, BYU cross country/track star, Whittni Orton, was named as an NCAA cross-country All-American.
This was because she placed among the top 40 women’s finishers during the women’s 6-K at the national championship meet hosted by Indiana State University at Terre Haute, Ind. November 23.
Orton, a junior for the Cougars, ran the 6-K race in 20:17:00.
Other BYU women’s runners to achieve All-American status include senior Courtney Wayment and senior Erica Birk.
