OGDEN, Utah-Monday, Weber State senior punter Doug Lloyd was named as the Big Sky Conference special teams player of the week for his contributions to the Wildcats’ 29-17 win over Northern Iowa Saturday at Stewart Stadium.
Lloyd is a native of Mount Gambier, Australia and has seven punts for a career-best net-average 46.7 yards per punt.
Five of his seven punts marooned the Panthers inside their own 20-yard line, with three of them downed at the Northern Iowa 2-yard line.
He had a career-long 72-yard punt in the 3rd Quarter, which is tied for the 14th longest punt in program history.
Lloyd currently ranks fourth in the Big Sky with 43.4 yards per punt.
The Wildcats will visit Moscow, Idaho Saturday as they ensue in their Big Sky Conference season against the Vandals at the Kibbie Dome.
