OGDEN, Utah-Wednesday morning, a pair of Weber State football standouts were honored by Athlon Sports by being placed on the publication’s preseason FCS All-American Team

The honored Wildcats are senior defensive back Maxwell Anderson and junior kick returner Abraham Williams.

Anderson, a native of Hayward, Calif., recorded 5 interceptions, 11 pass breakups and 1.5 tackles for a loss last season for Weber State.

The dynamic Williams, a former West High School star out of Salt Lake City, posted two interceptions and six tackles for a loss as a defensive back.

Williams primarily shone as a returner last season by recording four scores on kickoff returns, averaging 37.4 yards per return.

Williams, Maxwell and their Weber State teammates start the season by hosting NCAA Division II Central Washington August 31 at Stewart Stadium.
