OGDEN, Utah-Saturday, 1-2 Weber State (No. 5 in the STATS FCS poll and No. 6 in the AFCA coaches’ poll) hosts 2-1 Northern Iowa (No. 7 in the coaches’ poll and No. 9 in the STATS FCS poll) at Stewart Stadium in a match-up of “purple powers” in the FCS as both of these teams have purple as their primary color.
In this vein of thought, all Wildcats fans are encouraged to wear purple as the athletic department has deemed this a “Purple Out” game. Furthermore, the Wildcats will wear both purple jerseys and purple pants as well as the trademark purple helmets with the “Go W” logo.
The Wildcats are also celebrating their 100th year of football and all living former Weber State players and coaches are invited to attend the game as they will be recognized for their contributions to the program.
The Wildcats are 1-2 because they have suffered a pair of closely contested defeats at the hands of Mountain West Conference teams San Diego State and Nevada. In their other game, Weber State clobbered Cal Poly 41-24.
