DENVER-Wednesday, Utah Valley men’s basketball redshirt sophomore center Fairdaws Aimaq earned the WAC 2020-21 Joe Kearney Award.
Named in honor of former WAC commissioner Joe Kearney (1980-1994), this award is presented to the top male and female student-athletes in the WAC annually.
This past season, Aimaq posted 13.9 points and a national-best 15 rebounds per game.
Aimaq’s 333 net rebounds led the nation as well.
The 6-11 native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, was also named the Division I Riley Wallace player of the year award as the top transfer in the nation. Aimaq came to the Wolverines from the Mercer Bears of the Southern Conference.
