GREELEY, Colo.-This weekend, Utah Valley baseball (5-22, 2-4 in WAC play) visits the Northern Colorado Bears (6-18, 2-4 in conference play) as their WAC season continues.
After this, the Wolverines will continue their road trip at Colorado Springs, Colo. against Air Force in a non-conference series against the Falcons April 8 and 9.
Junior outfielder Alexander Marco leads the Wolverines in batting average (.347), home runs (5) and RBI (22).
Junior right-handed pitcher Jesse Schmit is Utah Valley’s leader on the mound, with a record of 2-3.
The Bears are led on the season by sophomore utility player Jake Gitter in batting average (.354).
Sophomore infielder Matt Zoba (3 home runs) is Northern Colorado’s leading home run hitter and the RBI leader for the Bears is redshirt senior outfielder Jack Pauley (15 RBI).
The Wolverines lead the Bears 36-19 all-time.
Air Force brings in a record of 12-13 (4-3 in Mountain West Conference play).
Freshman infielder Alexander Pup leads the Falcons in batting average at a .307 clip.
Senior infielder Nic Ready is tied for the team lead in home runs with 3 and leads Air Force in RBI with 17. Junior outfielder Ashton Easley also has 3 home runs for the Falcons.
The Wolverines and Falcons’ series is currently tied 8-8 all-time.
