Utah State Softball Adds a New Signee

LOGAN, Utah-Last Friday, Utah State head softball coach Steve Johnson announced an addition to his 2019 signing class with Ryann Holmes entering the Aggies’ fold.

Holmes comes to Utah State after two seasons at Mesa C.C. (Ariz.). In 2018, Holmes was the Thunderbirds’ leading batter, netting a .506 average. This includes 25 doubles, 11 triples and nine home runs.

Holmes was named as the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference player of the year for 2018 while also earning both first-team all-conference and all-region honors.

Holmes hails from Queen Creek, Ariz. and was a four-year letter-winner at Queen Creek High School. She was a two-time all-section honoree for the Bulldogs during her high school career.

With Holmes having signed, the Aggies now have nine new recruits in their class and Johnson spoke glowingly of her, saying “she’s got a big bat from the left side and will provide depth and competition up the middle for us.”
