LOGAN, Utah-Tuesday, Utah State football head coach Gary Andersen named Jason Shelley, formerly of the University of Utah, as the Aggies’ starting quarterback for Saturday’s season opener at Boise State.
Shelley is a 5-11 190-pound junior out of Frisco, Texas.
In spot duty with the Utes in 2019 and 2020, Shelley completed 58.1 percent of his passes for 1,205 yards.
Symmetrically, he threw six touchdown passes and six interceptions during those seasons.
Former Snow College star tailback, senior Jaylen Warren, will be the Aggies’ featured back.
Warren amassed 751 scrimmage yards and 5 total touchdowns last season for Utah State.
