LOGAN, Utah-Monday, Utah State football announced the hiring of Mike Favaro as an offensive analyst, per a statement from head coach Gary Andersen.
Favero returns to football after serving as a highly successful head football coach at Logan High School, a post from which he retired in 2015.
During his 17-year tenure coaching the Grizzlies, he won five state championships and eight region titles, while netting a record of 149-60 (.713).
Favero has coached such stars as former Utah State and Logan High tight end Chris Cooley, who starred with the NFL’s Washington Redskins.
Favero is a 1992 Utah State graduate, later earning his master’s in education from USU in 1998.
Favero is known for revolutionizing high school football in Utah, implementing a spread offensive attack for the Grizzlies in 2001.
