Utah Men’s Basketball Visits USC Saturday

LOS ANGELES-Saturday, Utah men’s basketball (4-2, 1-1 in Pac-12 play) visits USC (5-2, 0-1  in Pac-12 play) as the Utes seek to get above .500 in conference play.

Utah scores 73.2 points per game, tying the Utes for 164th nationally in scoring offense with Colorado State.

The Utes surrender 63.8 points per game and rank 50th nationally in scoring defense.

Senior guard Alfonso Plummer, a native of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, is the Utes’ leading scorer, averaging 16 points per game.

The only other Ute to score in double-figures on-average is junior forward Timmy Allen (15.8 points per game).

Sophomore guard Rylan Jones continues to lead Utah in assists (27) and steals (13).

Finnish national, sophomore forward Mikael Jantunen averages 5.2 rebounds per game to lead the Utes on the glass.

Utah sophomore center Branden Carlson continues to be the Utes’ leading shot blocker, with 10 swats on the season.

Utes head coach Larry Krystkowiak is 175-128 (.528) at the helm of the program and is 217-148 (.595) as a Division I head coach, including his time at Montana (2004-2006).

USC scores 78.1 points per game, ranking the Trojans 86th nationally in scoring offense.

Defensively, USC gives up 64.9 points per game, ranking the Trojans 75th nationally in scoring defense.

Freshman forward Evan Mobley is the Trojans’ leader in scoring (16.7 points per game) and rebounding (8.4 boards per contest). Mobley’s 20 blocked shots also lead USC.

Redshirt senior guard Tahj Eddy (12 points per game) and junior guard Drew Peterson (10.1 points per game, a team-best 23 assists) also score in double-figures on average for the Trojans.

Redshirt senior forward Chevez Goodwin is USC’s leader in steals, with 6 on the season.

In his eighth season at USC, head coach Andy Enfield is 137-104 (.568) at the helm of the program.

Enfield is 178-132 (.534) as a Division I head coach, having previously coached at Florida Gulf Coast (2011-2013).

The Utes lead the Trojans all-time 25-20 with the Trojans leading the all-time series at Los Angeles, 11-8.
