Utah Gymnastics Advances To Super Six

ST. LOUIS (NCAA.com)-Friday, the University of Utah women’s gymnastics team excelled at the NCAA semifinals, earning a spot in the Super Six for championship Saturday.

This continues the dynastic run for the Red Rocks, who have made it to the Super Six 21 times since the establishment of this format in 1993.

The Red Rocks were led by the all-around magnificence of star sophomore MyKayla Skinner, who amassed 39.725 all-around points, placing her second in the individual standings.

Oklahoma’s Maggie Nichols has a meet-best 39.8125 points thus far. Her contributions have the Sooners as the top seed headed into the Super Six, with 198.0500 points.

Utah finished third in its six-team semifinal, posting 197.1375 points, good enough for fifth overall in the standings.

The Red Rocks are seeking their 11th national championship all-time, but first since 1995.

They will compete against aforementioned Oklahoma, as well as Florida, Pac-12 rival UCLA, LSU and Nebraska.
