ATLANTA-Friday morning, University of Utah head football coach Kyle Whittingham was named as the winner of the 2019 Dodd Trophy.
This award is annually given to the head football coach in NCAA FBS whose program embodies this trophy’s three pillars: scholarship, leadership and integrity.
The coach who wins this award must also have a successful squad on the field throughout the course of the season in question.
Whittingham, who concludes his 16th season at the helm of the Utes’ program Tuesday against Texas in the Alamo Bowl at San Antonio, is 131-63 (.675) as Utah’s head coach.
The Utes are 11-2 (.846) in bowl games under Whittingham and he has coached 20 All-Americans in his tenure.
