Utah Football’s Britain Covey Named To Hornung Trophy Watch List

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-Thursday, University of Utah star receiver Britain Covey was named as the Beehive State’s lone representative on the Paul Hornung Trophy Watch list.

This trophy is annually awarded to the most versatile player in college football and is named for Paul Hornung, a Hall of Famer with the Green Bay Packers, who was known for his skills as a halfback, kicker and quarterback.

In his collegiate career, the former Timpview High star has 103 receptions for 1,156 yards (11.2 yards per grab) and five scores. He also has 176 yards on 27 carries (6.5 yards per attempt). This gives him 1,332 scrimmage yards and he also averages 22.4 yards on kick returns and 10.2 yards on punt returns for the Utes.

The winner will be announced December 1 and honored at a banquet March 4, 2020 at Louisville, Ky.
