LOGAN, Utah-Tuesday evening, Utah State volleyball hosts the annual blue/white preview match. The event is free and open to the public.
While supplies last, Utah State students will receive free pizza and fans will be able to interact with the players during a post-match poster signing party.
The Aggies return three starters and six letter-winners from a 16-14 squad last season.
Among the star returners are senior middle Lauren O’Brien of Clackamas, Ore. who totaled 161 kills in 2017. She also amassed 108 kills, showcasing her diverse skill set.
Senior setter Kassidy Johnson of Tucson, Ariz. was third in assists in the Mountain West last season, posting 777.
She averaged 10.36 assists per set in 2017, leading the Aggies in that category.
Head coach Grayson DuBose welcomes in seven newcomers this season, including Utah Valley transfer, junior Izzie Hinton-Belnap, a junior out of Fort Worth, Texas.
DuBose is currently in his 13th season at the helm at Logan, making him the second-longest tenured head coach in the Mountain West.
The Aggies’ season commences Friday at the Hornet Invitational at Sacramento State University. While there, they will face the host Sacramento State Hornets as well as Arizona on Friday. Saturday, they will conclude the tournament by playing the Cal State Northridge Matadors.
