LOGAN, Utah-Monday, Utah State men’s basketball senior guard Sam Merrill became only one of 15 point guards throughout the nation invited to participate at the CP3 Elite Guard Camp July 18-21 at Winston-Salem, N.C.
This camp annually features the top 30 high school point guards from throughout the country and the top 15 collegiate point guards for an intense three days of training with NBA point guard Chris Paul at his alma mater, Wake Forest University.
Paul will instruct players on skill development, film breakdown and life skills.
Past attendees include Stephen Curry, Victor Oladipo, CJ McCollum, Bradley Beal and Kemba Walker.
Merrill, the reigning Mountain West Conference player of the year, paced the Aggies in 2018-19 with a team-best 20.9 points per game while also leading the squad in assists (4.2 per game).
With 1,568 career points, Merrill has the chance to be only the fourth Aggie to score at least 2,000 points in school history.
