SAN MATEO, Calif.-Monday, BYU freshman guard Fousseyni Traore was named the West Coast Conference freshman of the week for the fourth time this season as he helped lead the Cougars to victories over Loyola Marymount (79-59) and Pepperdine (75-59) to conclude the regular season.

Traore is one of three freshmen in the WCC to earn weekly honors multiple times this season.

He concludes the regular season by averaging 9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for the Cougars.

Traore and his BYU teammates return to action Friday at the West Coast Conference tournament at Orleans Arena of Las Vegas.

The Cougars, as the No. 5 seed, will face the winner of No. 8 Loyola Marymount/No. 9 Pacific.
