Snow Canyon Invitational
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Friday, Day 1 of the Snow Canyon Track & Field Invitational, the initial track and field meet of the season, occurred, with various Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network schools having representatives.
The current girls’ leader is Desert Hills with 33 points. Panguitch checks in at seventh place with 18 points.
For the boys, Cedar is in first place with 36 points, while Hurricane is second with 35 points. Beaver’s boys are currently in eighth place with 11 points.
Panguitch’s Karlee Eyre won the girls’ javelin title with a toss of 102-00.50 feet. Eyre also placed second in the girls’ discus, posting a throw of 95-09 feet.
The Beaver girls placed 10th in the girls’ 4 x 800 relay. This team consists of Sariah Erikson, Kennedy Gillins, Nakomie Yardley and Haylee Erickson.
Beaver’s girls placed fifth in the girls’ 4 x 200 relay. This team was comprised of Kaitlyn Hemond, Avery Allred, Kay-C Erickson and Brooklyn Crum.
Hemond stepped up for the Beavers as well individually as she placed second in the girls’ long jump with a leap of 15-01.50 feet.
The Beaver boys also excelled in the boys’ 4 x 200 relay. This team features Porter Albrecht, Kaleb Barney, Turner Williams and Spencer Williams.
Also, for the Beaver boys, Treyson Roberts excelled, placing fourth in the boys’ shot put with a toss of 44-03.00 feet.
The meet concludes Saturday.
