OKLAHOMA CITY-Monday, three Utah college football standouts were named to the Jim Thorpe Award watch list as confirmed by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.

This award is annually awarded to the top cornerback in NCAA Division I FBS football.

Two Utah Utes made the cut, senior defensive back Julian Blackmon and junior defensive back Jaylon Johnson. From Utah State, senior cornerback DJ Williams was also named to this prestigious list.

Those cornerbacks who have impressive seasons will be added as the season progresses if they have already not been named to the list.

The winner of this award will be selected from among three finalists and will be honored at the Home Depot College Football Awards show December 12 and at a commemorative banquet February 4, 2020 at Oklahoma City.
