CEDAR CITY, Utah-Late Tuesday, Southern Utah women’s basketball added to their recruiting class under new head coach Tracy Sanders by signing former Snow College star Harley Hansen.
Sanders confirmed she is excited as “Harley can score in a multitude of ways and offers great versatility as she can play several different spots on the court.” Sanders is also a fan of Hansen’s long, athletic frame and lauded her defense and competitive nature.
Hansen enters Division I women’s basketball as a junior after two seasons in Ephraim wherein she netted six Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors and is a two-time member of the All-SWAC 1st Team.
During her time at Snow, the 5’9″ guard averaged 12 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.65 steals and 2.05 assists per game, thus showcasing her numerous abilities to affect a game.
Last season, she was named to the NJCAA’s all-academic third team and was nominated to be Snow’s Female Athlete of the Year.
A native of West Weber, Utah, Hansen starred at Fremont High School, averaging 18.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.2 steals a game for the perpetually powerful Silverwolves.
