CEDAR CITY, Utah-Thursday, Southern Utah University men’s basketball confirmed the signing of LSU transfer Courtese Cooper, a 6-9 forward out of Elgin, Ill.
Thunderbirds head coach Todd Simon confirmed Cooper is a “great fit” for the program, citing his ability to run the floor and ability to play various positions.
Cooper spent two seasons at LSU, playing one season for the Tigers and redshirting during another campaign.
He transferred to LSU from Triton College of River Grove, Ill.
In 2017-18 at Triton College, Cooper averaged 10.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Trojans.
At LSU, Cooper played in 11 games during the 2019-20 season, netting 1 point and 1.6 rebounds per game while shooting 6-7 from the field.
Cooper will have two seasons of eligibility for the Thunderbirds.
