Rose announces signing of Shengzhe Li to National Letter of Intent

PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s basketball coach Dave Rose announced today that Shengzhe Li has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cougars.

“Shengzhe is a polished and skilled post player that really understands how to play the game,” Coach Dave Rose said. “His sheer size and ability to move, pass and score will fit our program perfectly.”

Originally from Shanghai, China, Li plays for former BYU assistant Jeff Reinert at Santa Margarita Catholic in Santa Margarita, California. A 6-foot-10 center, Li averaged 6.8 points and 5.6 rebounds while helping Santa Margarita to a record of 20-10 in 2017-18. Prior to playing for Santa Margarita, Li played three years in Spain for the Canarias Basketball Academy in Las Palmas. He also plays for the Pump N Run club during the AAU season.
