MORGAN, Utah-Hayden Harris shot back-to-back 77’s during the 2-day 3A Girls Golf State Tournament at Round Valley Golf Course to win her second straight individual state title, while leading Richfield to its second straight 3A State Championship.
Richfield took the top three individual spots and placed five in the Top Ten to dominate the field Tuesday and Wednesday en route to the state title. The Wildcats shot 632 as a team with identical 316 scores each day. They won the title by an astounding 106 strokes, easily outdistancing Morgan on their home course. The Trojans shot 738 as a team to place second.
Grand County placed third with a 752, followed by Providence Hall with a 756 and Carbon rounded out the top five with a 761. Manti placed eighth with an 846.
Individually in the Top Ten Hayden Harris of Richfield shot a 154 for gold medalist honors, her teammate Ellie Hair placed second with a 157, Natasha Oldroyd, also of Richfield, tied for third with Joopy Bamrungmuang of Grand County with a 161.
Back to the Wildcats as Piper Harris placed fifth with a 168 and Maddy Miller tied for sixth with a 174. Miller tied with Jordan Bianco of Carbon and Shayla Patton of Delta.
Rounding out the top ten were Lauren Telford of Morgan and Jamie Day of Grand County tying for ninth with a 175.
