(Salt Lake City, UT) — Real Salt Lake is hoping to have a lawsuit filed by former head coach Mike Petke dismissed.

The team filed the motion in Third District Court yesterday.

Petke is suing the team for lost wages after being fired in August for allegedly using a homophobic slur toward a referee.

Freddy Sanchez has served as the interim coach and guided RSL to the third seed in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
