Non-Region

NEPHI, Utah-Cade Bowring amassed 177 scrimmage yards on 14 touches and two scoring receptions and ran for another score as the Juab Wasps had a successful Homecoming game by pummeling the South Sevier Rams, 49-7 Friday in non-region football action.

The Wasps amassed 493 yards of offense, including 304 yards on the ground while Trey Lund was Juab’s leading rusher with 10 carries for 85 yards.

Zac Cowan completed 9 of 19 passes for 189 yards and three scores, including a 30-yard score on a crossing route to Bodee Blackett. Cowan also ran for a touchdown, as did Teagen Christensen (17 yards). Freshman tailback Chase Ingram added a 17-yard touchdown run for the Wasps in the rout.

Brody Carter helped the Rams avert their second consecutive shutout as he hauled in a 26-yard touchdown pass from Tracen Winkel in the 4th Quarter.

Juab improved to 3-1 as they visit the Emery Spartans next Friday in another non-region tilt. South Sevier slumps to 0-4 with the loss and will visit Delta next Friday, also in another non-region game.

Defensively, the Wasps posted 4.5 sacks as Dominic Davidson led the way with 1.5 sacks before he was forced to leave the game with an injury. Juab also collected three interceptions as Wyatt Holdaway had two of those picks for the Wasps.

GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Jackson Sandberg threw four touchdown passes and the Grantsville Cowboys clobbered Delta 35-8 in non-region football action Friday. Will Finlinson had a 4-yard touchdown run in defeat for the Rabbits.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Landon Bowles and Payton Clawson each threw a touchdown pass and Bowles added a 25-yard touchdown run as the North Sanpete Hawks got past Richfield 21-14 Friday in non-region football action. Gavin Brown threw a 20-yard touchdown pass in defeat for the Wildcats.

MILFORD, Utah-Bryson Barnes tossed five touchdown passes as the Milford Tigers overpowered the Duchesne Eagles 46-21 Friday in non-region football action.

2-A North

MONTICELLO, Utah-Brevin Olson had a pair of scoring runs and the Monticello Buckaroos downed Gunnison Valley 28-8 in 2-A North football action Friday. Zach Stewart had a 74-yard touchdown run and the Bulldogs had a team safety in the loss.

2-A South

SALINA, Utah-McCoy Smith and Ryker Albrecht each tossed a pair of touchdown passes and the Beaver Beavers pounded North Sevier 54-6 Friday in 2-A South football action. Turner Williams and Jayton Jessup also ran for scores for Beaver, as did Albrecht. Crayton Hollingshead had an 11-yard interception return as well in the win for the Beavers. Taylor Crane threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Higgs in defeat for the Wolves.

KANAB, Utah-Brooks Myers threw three touchdown passes and Austin Burraston hd touchdown runs of 3, 64 and 6 yards as the Millard Eagles hammered Kanab 43-21 in 2-A South football action Friday. Sam Orton had two touchdown passes and Trey Chatterly returned a kickoff 89 yards for a score for the Cowboys in defeat.

Volleyball

Non-Region

LEHI, Utah-The Delta Rabbits dropped a pair of matches Friday at the Rocky Mountain Classic in Lehi. Delta lost to Copper Hills and Lehi each 2-0 to put them in the Copper Division for the Saturday portion of the tournament.

Girls Soccer

Region 12

MOAB, Utah-Melissa Crane scored twice and the Richfield Wildcats blanked Grand 4-0 Friday in Region 12 girls soccer action. Brittan Tait and Macey Pace also scored for the Wildcats. Megan Terry earned the shutout for Richfield.

Baseball

1A South Region

HURRICANE, Utah-Diamond Ranch scored five runs in the sixth inning to earn the run-rule victory over Bryce Valley 20-10 in 1A South Region baseball action Friday. Westyn Clark hit a home run, a double and had four RBI in the loss for the Mustangs.

BICKNELL, Utah-Panguitch scored four runs in the seventh inning, but the rally fell short as the Wayne Badgers held on for an 8-6 win in 1A South Region baseball Friday. Braige Jacobsen and Bridger Brian each hit home runs for the Badgers and Logan Chappell added a double in the win.

PRICE, Utah-The Valley Buffaloes went on the road and earned a 1A South Region baseball win over Pinnacle 13-4 on Friday.

GREEN RIVER, Utah-Piute scored four runs in the third and four runs in the sixth to earn the win over Green River on the road, 8-6 in 1A South Region baseball action Friday.

2A Fall Baseball (Non-UHSAA)

MT. PLEASANT, Utah-St. Joseph swept Wasatch Academy in 2A Fall Baseball 17-2 and 24-14 Friday.
